Our Vineyard Update

After a very mild summer, the vineyards are in great shape as we enter the second week of September.  Despite being two to three weeks behind last year's schedule, we're very excited to see really good size clusters on both the Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot vines.  Due to the unusual weather pattern this year, we did not start watering until the last week in August.  Around the same time, we began to pull leaves on the morning sun side and also thin out some of the clusters.  If the weather pattern holds, we anticipate picking our fruit later this month or in early October.  We'll have an update after harvest is finished and the '09 juice is in the barrel!
